Zin Zin is an ancient and revered God, dedicated to the establishment of order and the destruction of the forces of chaos and night. Valued worshippers can gain a variety of powers useful in the fight against the evil, but must abstain from the use of necromancy and other forms of unholy magic. Zin appreciates long-standing faith as well as sacrifices of valued objects.

There is a small chance that Zin will feed you if you pray when starving.

Followers of Zin can

  • Repel the undead
  • Call upon Zin for minor healing
  • Call down a plague
  • Utter a Holy Word
  • Summon a guardian angel

Zin appreciates killing undead creatures and demons in his name, as well as the sacrifice of corpses and valuable items at his altars.

Zin is offended by: the slaying of holy beings, the use of unholy items and magics, the use of necromancy, attacking friends, and the death of your friends.

Shining One The Shining One is a powerful crusading deity, allied with Zin in the fight against evil. Followers may be granted with the ability to summarily dispense the wrath of heaven, but must never use any form of evil magic and should fight honourably. The Shining One appreciates long-standing persistence in the endless crusade, as well as the dedicated destruction of unholy creatures.

Followers of the Shining One can

  • Repel the undead
  • Smite your foes
  • Dispel the undead
  • Hurl bolts of divine anger
  • Summon a divine warrior

The Shining One appreciates killing undead creatures and demons in his name.

The Shining One is offended by the slaying of holy beings, the use of unholy items and magics, the use of necromancy, attacking friends, the death of your friends, unchivalric attacks on sleeping or unaware opponents, and the use of poison (phew!).

Kikubaaqudgha Kikubaaqudgha is a terrible Demon-God, served by those who seek knowledge of the powers of death. Followers gain special powers over the undead, and especially favoured servants can call on mighty demons to slay their foes. Kikubaaqudgha requires the deaths of living creatures as often as possible, but is not interested in the offering of corpses except at an appropriate altar.

Kikubaaqudgha may grant especially pious followers powerful books of necromancy when they pray.

Followers of Kikubaaqudgha

  • can recall their undead slaves
  • are protected from some side-effects of death magic.
  • can permanently enslave the undead
  • can summon an emissary of Death

Kikubaaqudgha appreciates killing living creatures in his name, whether your kills or your undead slaves'.

Kikubaaqudgha likes having his altars covered in blood, but is uninterested in offerings of other items.

Yredelemnul Yredelemnul is worshipped by those who seek powers over death and the undead without having to learn to use necromancy. Followers can raise legions of servile undead and gain a number of other useful (if unpleasant) powers. Yredelemnul appreciates killing, but prefers corpses to be put to use rather than sacrificed.

Yredelemnul will occasionally grant his followers an undead servant when they pray.

Followers of Yredelemnul can

  • Animate corpses
  • Recall their undead slaves
  • Animate legions of the dead
  • Drain ambient lifeforce
  • Control the undead

Yredelemnul appreciates killing living creatures in his name, whether your kills or your undead slaves'.

Xom Xom is a wild and unpredictable God of chaos, who seeks not worshippers but playthings to toy with. Many choose to follow Xom in the hope of receiving fabulous rewards and mighty powers, but Xom is nothing if not capricious.

Followers of Xom are guaranteed nothing!

Vehumet Vehumet is a God of the destructive powers of magic. Followers gain various useful powers to enhance their command of the hermetic arts, and the most favoured stand to gain access to some of the fearsome spells in Vehumet's library. One's devotion to Vehumet can be proved by the causing of as much carnage and destruction as possible.

Vehumet grants favoured followers gifts of books holding spells of destruction when they pray.

If you follow Vehumet

  • you gain power from killing in Vehumet's name
  • you can call upon Vehumet to aid your destructive magics with prayer.
  • during prayer you have some protection from summoned creatures
  • you can tap ambient magical fields

Vehumet appreciates all killing in his name: yours, your servants' or your slaves'.

Okawaru Okawaru is a dangerous and powerful God of battle. Followers can gain a number of powers useful in combat as well as various rewards, but must constantly prove themselves through battle and the sacrifice of corpses and valuable items.

When Okawaru's favourites pray they can be granted gifts of weapons or armour.

Okawaru's followers can

  • gain great, but temporary, body strength
  • call upon Okawaru for minor healing
  • haste themselves

Okawaru appreciates all killing in his name.

Okawaru appreciates sacrificing corpses in his name.

Okawaru apprciates the sacrifice of corpses and valuable items at his altars.

Okawaru is displeased if you attack or fail to protect your allies.

Makhleb Makhleb the Destroyer is a fearsome God of chaos and violent death. Followers, who must constantly appease Makhleb with blood, stand to gain various powers of death and destruction. The Destroyer appreciates sacrifices of corpses and valuable items.

If you follow Makhleb you can

  • gain power from killing in Makhleb's name
  • harness Makhleb's destructive might
  • summon a lesser servant of Makhleb
  • hurl Makhleb's greater destruction
  • summon a greater servant of Makhleb

Makhleb appreciates killing living creatures in his name, whether by you or by your summoned servants.

Makhleb appreciates sacrificing corpses in his name.

Makhleb enjoys the sacrifice of corpses and valuable items at his altars

Sif Muna Sif Muna is a contemplative but powerful deity, served by those who seek magical knowledge. Sif Muna appreciates sacrifices of valuable items, and the casting of spells as often as possible.

Sif Muna showers her favourites with gifts of magical tomes.

Sif Muna grants her followers

  • the ability to freely open their minds to new spells
  • protection from some side-effects of spellcasting.

Sif Muna appreciates the sacrifice of valuable items at her altars.

Trog Trog is an ancient God of anger and violence. Followers are expected to kill in Trog's name and sacrifice the dead, and in return gain power in battle and occasional rewards. Trog hates wizards, and followers are forbidden the use of spell magic.

Prayers to Trog are rewarded with gifts of weapons or armour for the faithful.

Trag grants his followers the abilities to

  • go berserk at will
  • give their bodies great, but temporary, strength
  • haste themselves

Trog appreciates killing living creatures in his name.

Trog appreciates sacrificing corpses in his name.

Trog likes having his altars covered in blood, but is uninterested in offerings of other items.

Trog is most displeased at the casting of spells.

Nemelex Xobeh Nemelex is a strange and unpredictable trickster God, whose powers can be invoked through the magical packs of cards which Nemelex paints in the ichor of demons. Followers receive occasional gifts, and should use these gifts as as much as possible. Offerings of any type of item are also appreciated.

When petitioned by his followers, Nemelex can grant them a portable altar with which to sacrifice items to him, or gifts of powerful magical packs of cards.

Nemelex appreciates the use of his decks of cards.

Nemelex appreciates the sacrifice of corpses and valuable items at his altars.

Elyvilon Elyvilon the Healer is worshipped by the healers (among others), who gain their healing powers by long worship and devotion. Although Elyvilon prefers a creed of pacifism, those who crusade against evil are not excluded. Elyvilon appreciates the offering of weapons.

Worshippers of Elyvion can

  • call upon Elyvilon for minor healing
  • call upon Elyvilon for purification
  • call upon Elyvilon for moderate healing
  • call upon Elyvion to restore your abilities
  • call upon Elyvilon for incredible healing

Elyvilon appreciates all offerings of weapons and ammunition at his altars.

Elyvilon is offended if you kill living creatures while praying.

Elyvilon is offended by the slaying of holy beings, the use of unholy items and magics, the use of necromancy, attacking friends, the death of your friends, or if you butcher corpses in his name.
